The UN will commemorate Nakba Day for the first time in 2023: Nakba Day acknowledges ongoing Israeli aggression and the Zionist destruction of Palestinian lives and peace in Palestine

& Nakba Day marks the official beginning of the ongoing Palestinian Refugee crisis as Israel continues to destroy Palestinian homes, displacing Palestinian men, women, and children, and denying Palestinian refugees the inalienable natural and legal right to return to original homes and lands.  Israel continues to usurp Palestinian land, rights & freedom...

Nakba Day is marked annually by Palestinians on May 15 to remember the expulsion of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homes and areas in 1948 after the founding of Israel.

Visualising Return exhibition in London December 2021

Photos shared by Maher Naji  followed by some photos from the online visual tour by the Palestinian Return Centre

"Maher's artwork is inspired by his family's memories of Palestine before 1948. He relies on his mother's vast details of her memories, for every line and shape in his paintings, his art is a means of preserving Palestinian culture in the midst of Israeli settler colonial siege. The memories he paints, are also the hopeful visualisations of return." RETURN WEEK

March First for Al Awda

       March First for Al Awda

My heart is with all

who march March 1st ...

with all who value every home
& family.

All who value freedom of
(and from) religion.

All who crave and help create

fair and just laws...

All who write stories and poems, and paint,
all who build beauty & museums for Palestine.

All who vote for full and equal rights
and respect.

Every step marched yesterday
today and tomorrow for Al Awda

is amplified a thousand fold,
by all who can not be there.

And amplified again, and again
for Al Awda, amplified a trillion fold
by every refugee.

My heart is with all

who march for real justice

and a lasting peace.
